Feedback Session at Newcastle City Hall, 7.00pm Wednesday 11 February

The community group Hunter Concerned Citizens (of which SOR is a member) is holding a meeting in the Newcastle Town Hall, Wednesday 11th Feb, 7.00 p.m.

Come and air your grievances! Election candidates will be there – hear their views on the rail closure – let them hear what the community needs. Gladys and Mike are invited but I don’t think they will front up. IMPORTANT TO HAVE A GOOD ATTENDANCE SO ROLL UP.

(Note that Feb 11th SOR Maitland branch meeting has been CANCELLED to avoid clash the Hunter Concerned Citizens meeting at Newcastle Town Hall. Further details of Maitland branch meeting to be advised.)

Here are the details from the Hunter Concerned Citizens Facebook page:

Cutting Intercity and Hunter Line services does not show you are sorry about paper bag behaviour Mr Baird.

Let the Baird government know how you feel about your rail services being cut! Come along to the Feedback Session at Newcastle City Hall, 7.00pm Wednesday 11 February

Once again we´re giving Premier Mike Baird, Minister for the Hunter; Gladys Berejiklian and Planning Minister; Pru Goward an opportunity to talk to local people. Local candidates for the upcoming Ward 3 council by-election and NSW state election; as well as, your elected representatives – have all been invited to respond to your concerns around planning decision making processes affecting all the Hunter.

Let us know how you feel about having your rail service ripped up! Are you spending more of your day travelling? How disrupting to change between trains and buses?

If you’re concerned about what the government has already done and is threatening to do, as revealed on the Minister of Planning’s Friday visit to talk to the Property Council, come along and:

– Hear the latest on what’s happening / what’s planned on both sides of this issue
– Tell your elected representatives what you think
– Help plan for a better future for the Hunter!
